LH triggers ovulation in women and stimulates testosterone production in men. With FSH it gives a complete view of sex hormone regulation.
The mid-cycle LH peak triggers ovulation. A high LH compared with FSH is often seen in PCOS.
What does low LH mean?
Low LH can suggest pituitary disease.
What does high LH mean?
High LH appears with menopause or ovarian or testicular failure.
